What is “A Queen’s Banquet”?

Esther 2:9
And the maiden pleased him, and she obtained kindness of him; and he speedily gave her her things for purification, with such things as belonged to her, and seven maidens, which were meet to be given her, out of the king's house:  and he preferred her and her maids unto the best place of the house of the women. Format of “A Queen’s Banquet”

“A Queen’s Banquet” (AQB) is a five hour-long program. The first portion of the program is a Spiritual service introducing Jesus Christ and His unconditional love. Gifted volunteers are given ten minutes each to present the Gospel message through song, dance, drama, testimony and teaching from the Word of God. At the end of this service, an invitation is given to accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

During the second portion of the program, volunteers from participating organizations begin the ‘One on One’ ministry time. Women are given free haircuts and styling suggestions, performed by licensed beauticians. Throughout the day they move on to have a manicure, a facial, and a walk through the Banquet Boutique. At this time, they receive three or four outfits including shoes, handbags, and accessories.

Volunteers oversee a day-care for the guests’ children. This provides an opportunity to introduce Jesus Christ to the children through various forms of children’s ministry, such as skits – puppets – clowns – and games. Children are provided care from infant through twelve years.

All guests and workers in attendance the day of (AQB) are given a free lunch provided and prepared by the participating organizations.

All participating organizations receive an equal number of names and addresses of guests attending  (AQB) to do follow-up after the program is held. Women who come forward during the invitation are shown a list of all participating organizations and asked if they would like a representative to visit their home. These names are then given to any   specific organizations chosen.

Maximum attendance is obtained when (AQB) is held in a location such as a school or community  building providing adequate space.

Purposes and Goal

The purpose of (AQB) is to help women come to the realization that cultural backgrounds as well as present or past lifestyles will not cause a person to be denied the love of Jesus Christ.

The central message shared by all workers is that the way a person feels on the inside is more important than the  outward appearance.

The goal is to let women know that real beauty is shown through a woman’s personality, her character, and  commitment to Jesus, family and friends.

Statistics

Since (AQB) began in 1996, it has continually grown in size year after year.

Ten to fifteen percent of the women in attendance at (AQB) come forward when the invitation is given  to accept Jesus Christ as Savior. With proper follow-up, many of these women join churches and stay faithful to their commitment.

Benefits

Since its birth, (AQB) has been fruitful in producing new souls for the Kingdom of God. It has also been successful in overcoming denominational barriers between churches and uniting civic groups, as  believers in Christ work together to share the love of Jesus.

While it is true that (AQB) is geared to reaching out to women, it also is a program that encourages all organization members, male, female and youth to participate, thus increasing member involvement and promoting unity.
